It is a powerful program that it is easy to use and it's open source means that there will be continual updates to it in the future.Pros: If the fact that Shoctut is open source (free) isn't enough for you to use it allow me to go deeper. Since I started using it years ago, I was able to get on and figure my way through the different options and capabilities, and have been using it ever since to edit videos for ministry purposes.If you're looking for a good replacement for Windows Movie Maker or an affordable video editing program, I'd recommend Shotcut. It's been very easy integrating Shotcut into my business. When you need to export a video in a certain format, it has those format options available, and it has a low learning curve.

You have all the necessary information and buttons to work with and if and only if you want to go deeper you'll have to face the more complex functions of the software.I think that my favorite thing about Shotcut is how easy it is to create proxies for heavy videos.
